For over nearly 20 years, I have sought to help people in various capacities, working in the field of mental health, relationship and spiritual healing and social services. I have had the privilege of journeying with so many beautiful individuals, all of whom carried with them their unique stories of challenge, joy and hope. In 2004, my husband and I co-founded a spiritual community together with our friends and my soul’s purpose and career path began to align in a deeper way. Since the birth of that community, I have had the incredible honor of nurturing people into becoming more of who they truly are, through the integration of their spiritual, emotional and relational lives.
During these years I experienced such an alignment of my passion and work that I found myself at an internal crossroads. And this was difficult to reconcile, given my education and the work I was doing in the world. Shouldn’t I be able to figure this out? Get above it? Why wasn’t traditional therapy working? What was wrong? Because the truth was that my husband and were struggling. We were experiencing feelings of deep disconnection. And, although we wanted to find our way back to each other, we couldn’t see our way through. The tools and advice available to us felt incomplete. I found myself desperately needing hope - and a new way.
Birthed out of a longing for help and home, and that honored the Divine in my life, I embarked on a pilgrimage of radical self-discovery. I read countless books, took courses from various wisdom teachers of contemplative and mystical traditions, and began to discover a spiritual path that transformed my marriage and my life. I began to bring these principles and practices to those I counseled, and saw that they too, experienced beautiful awakenings and transformation, both personally and in their intimate partnerships.
I believe and have seen that as people begin to discover how deeply connected to the Divine they are, how loved they are, and how accessible this love is, their lives begin to change. Old narratives are challenged and re-defined. We begin to more fully embody who we really are. We become more aligned with our purpose and recognize that we are here to be creators of our lives. We can take radical responsibility for our life and our healing. And we open to the abundance of love that is available to us in every moment.
I am a spiritual counselor, a speaker and teacher, and a composer and curator of music that reflects and invites us into the love of the Divine that exists for all people. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California and served as Director of Spiritual Formation at Sojourn Grace Collective, a progressive spiritual community, for several years. I am the founder and spiritual counselor with Anew Spiritual Counseling, providing both individual and couple’s counseling. I live with my husband and two children, who are the absolute joy of my life.
My work includes helping those who have experienced harm in their Spiritual or church community or have internalized rigid ideology. I help those who have deconstructed old narratives of faith or self-identity, and are looking to build new ones. I work with those who find themselves wanting to feel more alive, more present, more awake and walk with people towards authentic relationship with God, themselves and one another.
